Although outlawed in Alladore and Lorenthia, the inhumane notion of "runt of the litter" still exists among certain feline species, and Princesse was born in the Tollonian Principalities.

She was thus left to fend for herself by her parents, which was basically a death sentence.  Instead, she was gathered up and raised by foster parents, whose identity remains a mystery : some whisper that they were Hu-Mans.  Then again, there are a lot of rumours about Princesse.  She is sometimes called "Three of Nine", because she has already lived three of her supposed nine lives.

As to why she was the runt of the litter, it has been suggested that she retained too many of the feral instincts of her Mairen ancestors, and that in the darkest depths of the night, she hunts House Mice ad kills them as a game.  It is true that several went missing in Tallis when she was living there, but then again they are so numerous that it is difficult to keep track of them all, nothing was ever proven.

The only thing that is certain as regards Princesse, is that she truly can see the future, be it in the palm of your hand, in her crystal ball, or in the cards.  Whether she is truly helped by the ghosts of the dead is uncertain.  Be warned : she will spare you no detail of your destiny, no matter how bleak.  The faint-hearted would do better to steer clear.
