Ash is an archer of the Lorenthian army, who fought in one of the many lost battles that raged in his land during the final overthrow by the Jungle Deep.  He managed to make it to an isolated farmhouse, where he joined a rag-tag bunch of survivors.  His luck seemed to have run out, until a band of Alladore Rangers came into the vicinity on a scouting mission and found them all.  After a desperate struggle against the enemy, Ash was able to escape alongside them, climb some secret stairs and reach safety in Alladore.  

As a symbol of the perpetual alliance between Alladore and Lorenthia, in these desperate times, the Rangers called "The Twins" offered Ash a magic arrow that they had discovered during their mission, telling her she would know when the time had come to use it.
