"This may taste a little bad.  But it will leave you feeling less so". 

Kiara learned to doctor in the Tollonian Principalities.  She was very gifted, and interested by the toxins that all mole-people secrete in their saliva, turned to the arts of alchemy to assist her in the making of all sorts of remedies.

She brought her knowledge to Alladore, but Tollonians being somewhat looked down upon in certain circles, decided to open a clinic in one of the least savoury parts of Tallis.  There was a few run-ins with local quacks, but since mole arms are strong enough to tunnel through damp earth in record time, a few broken noses, and some rather miraculous cures, were enough to calm things down and get the locals on her side.  Over time, and having trained other doctors to staff her clinic, she specialised as a pediatrician.

A chance meeting with a wandering healer, convinced Kiara to travel north to be trained in the ars magica.  This proved to be an excellent choice.  Today Keira is a fully-fledged magician, who continues to make her own healing potions.  She has retained, from her early years, the habit of handing out candy from a small jar she always carries on her back, to sweeten the rather foul taste of many of her potions. When the Jungle Deep struck, Kiara learned that the Rangers of Alladore do not look down on Tollonians...
