The fifth son of an aristocratic family, Nicolan failed at every trade his family set up for him.  The coming of the Jungle Deep was almost a blessed excuse for him to escape his family and strike out on his own.  He is noticeably well dressed and wears several expensive rings on his fingers.  His smile is marred by a missing tooth.

One of Alladore's auxiliary troops, Nicolan crossed paths with Aka Morumotto when the Ranger came to their aid against a pair of werewolves.  The young noble proved his valour, and Aka invited him to tag along.
