Among the more sophisticated animal-headed peoples, dwell a sub-species mockingly known as "Hu-Mans".  Hu derives from a word in southern-speech which roughly translates as "small" or, in certain contexts, "crunchy".

They live in primitive tribal groups, and speak in tongues that are incomprehensible to the other peoples of the world, live they within or without the Jungle Deep.  As cunning as they are low, as bloodthirsty as they are inventive, they make excellent servants for the Jungle Deep.
